You’ve got a lot of different solutions available to you when it comes to site management. The key is finding the one that’s best for you. If I were shopping for a new tool, here’s what I would want to know.

Blogvault is not a software update service. However, it does provide everything you need to manage updates yourself. Its interface makes it easy to follow what I consider the ‘best practice’ for software maintenance. Backup on demand, staging creation, and rollback features mean you can tackle updates with confidence.

Yes. In fact, they even allow you to manage backups and restores for individual subsites.

Blogvault does provide support for all users. However, it’s important to remember that support for third-party services is usually restricted to the features within the platform. You can count on them 24/7 to help you with things like understanding the notifications they send you or for guidance on how to best use their site restore features. They won’t be able to tell you why your WordPress admin page isn’t saving changes, or why your contact form is not working.

Your web host backups are stored within your web host infrastructure. This means that if you ever lose access to your site for any reason, like an outage or critical issue with your web host platform, you will also lose that backup. Third-party backups are the ultimate disaster recovery plan. The bonus with Blogvault is that it’s not only your ‘break in case of emergency’ option – their suite of website management tools means you can proactively prevent other types of disasters as well.

VERY good question, I’m glad you asked. Some third-party solutions store your backups directly on your server. This could impact your available space and performance, especially if your database is very large. Blogvault stores your backups in its own encrypted storage, leaving you free from monitoring your hosting utilization.
